At the School of Pharmacy, pursuing excellence is an everyday exercise.

Through experiential training and critical skills development, we produce quality practitioners. Whether they become community pharmacists, hospital pharmacists, teachers, researchers or entrepreneurs, our mission is to make sure our graduates are scientifically knowledgeable, compassionate, ethical and committed to a lifetime of continued learning.

Originally established in 1911 as a department of the School of Medicine on the Boulder campus, the School of Pharmacy opened its doors with two students and one faculty member.The University of Colorado School of Pharmacy is a comprehensive institution of higher education committed to excellence in teaching, research and public/professional service in areas unique to the practice of pharmacy and to the pharmaceutical sciences.

The school's professional educational programs have as their principal purpose the training of pharmacy practitioners who are compassionate, ethical and caring; scientifically knowledgeable and technically competent; skilled at communication and teamwork; motivated to pursue lifelong learning; and dedicated to fulfilling the public trust by assuring the safe, effective and efficient use of prescription and non-prescription drug products.
